Carrie and I decided that we were due a mini road trip so we packed our hiking gear, grabbed some granola, and headed over to Colorado Springs to visit her friend Bryan and be all-around tourists. Bryan happened to be quite the coffee connoisseur, so we sipped on home-made expressos before venturing on to the Garden of the Gods. We never did end up hiking (due to extremely chilly winds) but we escaped the car long enough to snap a few pics and admire Pike's Peak off in the distance. Then back to Bryan's for more coffee (coconut milk included). I haven't been so caffeinated in a long time.

Did I mention I popped a tire on the way there? Because it was right around a dangerous bend in the road a friendly lady cop offered to park behind us with her lights flashing until a tow truck could come. Miraculously people slowed down a bit when passing ;)
